Podcasting is the ability to create or listen to audio or video content, called podcast via the web live or it can be downloaded for later viewing or listening on a laptop, desktop, or on a mobile device like a smart phone or many MP3 players. 
Downloading a podcast is different from downloading regular audio and video files from a web site because the content of a podcast is updated regularly, and new content can be receive via subscription. ReplyDeleteThe first time I heard the term podcast, was on Larry King advising his viewers about selected programmes available for their viewing pleasure on podcast. Well of course, I went on the Internet to find out what that was about . I was impressed, never imagining that I would be learning how to incorporate the technology into the teaching of reading.
As a visual medium, it has invaluable applications in education since users can replay videos again and again until the concept is understood. Additionally it could be used creatively by students in the production of their own content.
